The Path to Freedom is Paved with...Handmade Paper !

Made by Survivors Holiday Card Sets, $12, are helping slavery survivors in Nepal build safe, slavery-proof lives.  Survivors such as Fulmaya use the money they earn making our paper products for agricultural projects such as this chicken coop.  Expains Fulmaya "Because of my work, my sisters will not be trafficked"

Leaf Journals, $12 and Sequin or Leaf Card sets suitable for Hanukkah and other festive occasions, are made by survivors from a renewable resource - the Daphne plant, a bush that grows wild in Nepal. 

Asha explains that her income gives her a voice in her family:  "Since I have my job (with Made by Survivors) neither my father nor my brothers can sell me, or tell me what to do.  I decide when to to go to work, when to do housework, what to wear and how to spend my money".  We might take such simple choices for granted, but for people who were once slaves, every choice is empowering and greatly appreciated.  Please remember our survivors as you do your holiday shopping this year - your choice to buy our beautiful, hand-made, fair trade cards and gifts gives our survivors a whole world of simple, wonderful choices.    FREEDOM ROCKS!
